But unfortunately, no eateries were open, and so the gang of four decided to explore the Old Latin Quarter, and we were famished. We waited, and as soon as it was 10 AM, we started our Goan food journey, which continued till we boarded the return flight after 5 days! 

And thanks to our love for food, we well exceeded our budget for the trip! And we don’t regret that the beach fun and food tour were the priorities in our things to do in Goa list.

Viva Panjeem is the most likable kid in a classroom. From web to Instagram, everyone is talking about its setup in a 100-year-old Portuguese heritage house and its crabs. 

We loved the monster Racheado crabs here, and the crabs were very meaty. We also tried the seafood platter, and the butter prawns in the platter were our instant favorite.

Petisco is completely different from Viva Panjim. It impresses with its sleek and modern charm, and we ate a lot here! Still, we missed the cocktails, and we were cribbing a lot because of that.

But this time, our path leads to Putiram Sweets. It’s a stone’s throw away from the College Street Campus of the University of Calcutta and the Calcutta Medical College. Trust me! You will get the best Kachuri in Kolkata. 

The Cholar Daal, with the right touch of sweetness, is a perfect complement to the Kachuris. When I visited Putiram Sweets last time (around two years back), Kachuris used to cost Rs 7 per piece. You will also find a wide variety of sweets there. 

Dream And Travel Note

The Kachuris here are not filling enough. So, you may have to order multiple plates. Also, some people find the Cholar Daal very sweet. I love it!

You can reach Putiram by bus, train, or metro. If you are traveling by metro, get down at the Central Metro Station and walk for around 10 minutes to reach Putiram. 

If you are taking a train, you will have to get down at Sealdah Station, and from there, you can take a walk or take a bus to Surya Sen Street and walk from there toward College Street. 

Putiram is one of the cheapest breakfast places in Kolkata. Rupees 100 will be enough per person. 

5. Maharaj Snacks
